Harlow Giles Unger

HARLOW GILES UNGER is a veteran journalist, broadcaster, educator, and historian and a former Distinguished Visiting Fellow in American History at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. He is author of twenty-five books, including three works on early American history and ten biographies of America’s Founding fathers--among them John Hancock, Lafayette, Noah Webster, James Monroe, Patrick Henry, George Washington, and Chief Justice John Marshall.

Mr. Unger has appeared on History Channel and C-SPAN’s Book-TV and spoken many times at Mount Vernon, Yorktown, and other historic sites in Boston, New York, and other cities. He is a graduate of Yale University and has a Master of Arts from California State University. He spent many years as a correspondent and American affairs analyst for the New York Herald Tribune Overseas News Service, The Times and The Sunday Times of London, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
