CSM G.P. Kotzur, USA (Ret)

He served 33 years, 2 months and 15 days of faithful service to America. Veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam with 35 months of combat time and 13 battle stars. He fought for 70 days in Normandy and in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 and 65 days in the South Korea Perimeter.

G.P. was proud of the Army and wore the military uniform with a high sense of pride. He was grateful to the U.S. Army for being allowed to serve and retire with more than 33 years of service. War to him was only a rough spot in military life.

G.P. wrote an article encouraging the construction of the World War II Memorial. A copy of the article can be found on the internet. G.P. was thankful to God for his longevity. He often said: "Trust in God and live a good life."

He was a proud American and displayed the American flag everyday. He had the most respect for Memorial and Veteran's Day, saying "enjoying the freedom. Thank a Veteran."

G.P. died on Apr. 6, 2010.
